Christopher is a 12 year old boy from Pelzer, South Carolina. After three unsuccessful open heart surgeries Christopher is now on the heart transplant list. The Outdoor Dream Foundation was able to give Christopher his dream hunt.
The hunting group consisted of Christopher, his dad Chris, ODF Founder Brad Jones, and ODF Videographer Greg Darnell. Greg donates a great deal of his spare time to the special kids that The Outdoor Dream Foundation serves.
The adventure began right away with Christopher’s first plane ride. Christopher made the most of flight, meeting the United Pilots and getting a personal tour of the cockpit.
Christopher arrived at the Wagonhound Ranch near Douglas Wyoming and hit the ground running with an evening bear hunt. He was guided by Wagonhound Outfitter’s Manager Dax McCarty and Erick Mares. Christopher harvested one of the largest bears ever taken at the Wagonhound Ranch on the second day of his hunt. He made a great shot on a beautiful chocolate bear that weighed 400 pounds!
On the third day of the Christopher’s hunt, ODF founder Brad Jones called in a big Merriam Gobbler. Christopher did his part in taking the bird.
Just when it looked like the adventure was over, the group had to depart from the lodge a day early due to an unexpected spring snow storm. A South Carolina boy like Christopher gets pretty excited when it snows.
We cannot thank Dax McCarty and the Wagonhound Land & Livestock Company for continued support of The Outdoor Dream Foundation and children like Christopher.
